It was not only Max who had a very big week - Jack did too. He had a practice football match for his upcoming trip to Phuket - not sure I have mentioned that but he has been selected to go to Phuket for an Under 11 football tournament (soccer for my Aussie friends). Cannot believe he is getting this opportunity at 9 years old !! He has proven to be quite the little star - but I am very biased. So that was a 2 match affair in the stinking heat. He also attended Max's pool party and then on Sunday celebrated his 9th birthday by having a go-carting party.
Go-Karting is truly an Indian experience with no guidelines or safety aspects at all ! The helmets were either too big or too small, the kids were either banging their knees on the front or having to have cushions behind them in the seat to help them reach the peddles. The carts have no safety checks and the kids just go as fast as they can (which for me is too fast) but have an absolute ball. We had 10 boys all desperate to keep going, and they managed to have 2 hours of non-stop go-carting - not a bad effort I thought. We then headed out for lunch at Nandos before delivering children home.
Monday was Jack's actual birthday - so lots of gifts to open very early in the morning, and the hit of the day was his new Nike Football boots that have his name embroidered on one side and the Australian flag on the other. He then headed to school happily and had his first day of Swim Squad training after school - not getting home until 6.15pm ! Busy busy boy !
Then today, he competed in a swimming gala at school - participating in Breaststroke, Backstroke and a relay. He was super exhausted (and hungry) this afternoon.
To top this busy week off, he has his Ma arriving tomorrow which has raised the excitement levels to an all time high !! We are hoping for a quiet few days ahead.
