Christmas Breakfast at the Leela Palace

One of the many beautiful 5 Star hotels in Bangalore is the Leela Palace. It is one of the few places that makes me feel special and privileged to be able to visit regularly here in Bangalore. It is such an opulent and classy hotel, and really does know how to turn it on for special occasions.  It is a huge contrast to the life outside it's gates.

This week, it was the Santa Breakfast that got us out of bed early on a Saturday morning - Mike and I nursing a bit of a hangover from our hosted Christmas Party the night before.  It wasn't a cheap morning out by Indian standards - $35 each, but was well worth it. The buffet breakfast had everything you would ever want - pancakes, waffles, full cooked breakfast, pastries, smoked salmon and antipasto, and of course, Indian delights and lots of strong coffee !!!

The entire hotel was decorated beautifully and the cookie decorating section was a HUGE hit with the kids. Even our boys got into the creative spirit. We definitely know Max doesn't have a future in cake decorating!!

The main event was the arrival of Santa who 'cruised' in to the breakfast in a 1949 Ford. Now, I've seen my fair share of Santa's over the years but this would have to be one of my favourites. He had a real beard, beautiful red suit and was kind, gentle and happy !!! How many Santa's do you come across that are so bloody grumpy?! I suppose walking around in that big hot suit in 35degree weather in Australia gives them the right to be grumpy ......

It was definitely a fun morning shared with new friends and the wonderful Leela staff.  We will definitely be back next year.
