I know it's probably the worst kept secret going around but our time in India is coming to a close. We had grand plans of relocating from Bangalore to Boston and enjoying full civilisation in the middle of the year. However, plans have changed and Mike has been approached to commence a very exciting role in Hong Kong in April.
He will be the Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific with State Street Global Markets - ending his 12 year connection with ssga. It's a great opportunity for him and it will also be great to be back in a financial hub!! rather than downtown Bangers.
We are currently in the 'horrendous' process of finding schooling for the boys with no end in sight. Lets hope someone likes the look of them and takes them on board. They have come to terms with the change of location and are actually getting quite excited.
I will be able to work in Hong Kong - which will be great and hopefully will work out as well as it has here.
We are all very happy to be closer to home and to have a direct flight home.... no more transit !! It will also give us the opportunity to continue to travel a bit and see more of the world. We are obviously hoping to see more of Asia but maybe a trip to Hawaii will be on the cards - yippee !
We are sure that many more people will be willing to visit us in HK but unfortunately it will be unlikely that we have much space to have people stay with us....... the Hong Kong property prices are scary !! But we are sure we will get to know the lowdown on restaurants, hotels, airbnb very very quickly. So keep us in your thoughts.
