So what does a girl do when her nails need doing but she has her 9 and 7 year old boys with her for the day ? She takes them to the nail salon, of course..... they were quite keen to see what all the fuss was about with the girls going to get their "nails done". And lets face it, cutting those boys nails and cleaning their feet is something I NEVER enjoy doing ! So if I could pay someone to do it for me, that's one happy mum. Especially when they play football and cricket barefoot every afternoon in the mud and dirt of Bangalore.
Darshana, the owner, had assured me that everyone would be thrilled to have them there, so off we went after work today. The massage chairs were a big hit and the iced tea (super sweet, indian style) was also very popular. Max couldn't contain the giggles with someone working on his feet but he didn't kick the girl and was actually very happy with the whole process. Even if it was super ticklish.
When it came to whether they wanted their toes painted or not - I left it to them to decide. No male/female stereotypes from this mum. So they both said 'yes please', chose their colours and then asked for some nail art as well. Snowflakes, of course.
They were super excited !! The only thing they we worried about was whether the polish would wash off in the shower. That is, until Mike saw them and started calling them 'princess'!! Oh well, not everyone can be happy.
Not sure the boys will be coming again but I am very happy we had a fun time together. x
