A Goan adventure

This long weekend (for Ganesha Chathurthi) we flew to Goa - only 1.5 hours away from Bangalore. It is the tail-end of monsoon season here in India, so we were still off-peak and decided to spoil ourselves and stay at the Leela resort - it is beautiful. As it's still very quiet, there are no beach shacks assembled for selling food, crafts, staying in etc, so we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. That is, apart from the many Indian tourists swimming fully clothed..... It baffles me why?!  I understand the non-exposure of flesh but to go swimming fully clothed must be SO uncomfortable.

We spent most of the 4 days running between the beach and the pool at the resort. We relaxed and didn't do any sightseeing this trip - it was perfect.  The boys thought it was just heaven to have all this freedom and also to have mum and dad in tow.

Goa is known as the Portuguese region of India, so the European influence is definitely visible. Lots of pastel coloured houses, Catholic Churches, and lots of seafood - yummo !! We were fairly close to being the only westerner's in the resort, apart from 'zee Germans' ..... Who seem to be everywhere we go.

Our suite at the Leela was very spacious which was lovely for 4 days and we managed to have a sleep in every day.  Got to love block out curtains.

I wont' write a lot today but have attached heaps of photos from our adventure.
