Many of you would know that Mike is away at the moment in Boston. It appears that this is quite common here in India - the wives are left in 'the bubble' or 'Golden Prison' that is Palm
Meadows, while the husband travels for business. The only good thing about that is that many of the families are going through exactly the same thing at the same time as you.
So this week, a Swedish friend Sara is on her own with her two girls while her husband is back in Sweden on business. Her daughter, Vera is in Jack's class and I think there is a little crush happening there (see attached picture). Jack offered to collect Vera from her house at 6.20am because her Mum couldn't take her to the bus because her little sister is still asleep - sweet!! So we have gone down and collected Vera each morning this week. But those small things help when you're on your own.
Then, our Dutch neighbours, Karen and Martin invited the kids and I over for dinner. It's Gandhi day today, so the kids were off school and I had 6 additional kids at our place playing all afternoon playing - FUN. They have 3 children - Lotta 9, Jobe 8 and Milou 2. They are just lovely and we had the nicest dinner with the kids watching Mary Poppins. We chatted like we've known each other for ages - so nice. What a great way to end Gandhi day !!
This is the best part of living in an expat community. Some people you 'put up with' when living in such close quarters but others are just so easy and fun to get to know. These are the people that will make living in India great!! We are so hopeful that many of these people will remain friends through the years and we can visit across the world !!
