Indian people don't need to be told constantly that their infrastructure is poor!! They also don't need to hear that the place is dirty, congested, noisy and heavily beuraocratic ! They all know that, they live here.
Sometimes when I'm out, especially driving somewhere, there is the urge to talk about the shocking state of the roads, traffic, dirt, poverty, sexist behaviours that you see from the car window. But the Indian men and women know all if this, they have lived it all there lives and will continue to do so.
Bangalore traffic is like nothing I have ever seen, and it is constant!! One of the reasons we moved into a gated community was to have an escape from that madness. It is peaceful and quiet in our little community, and then outside the main gate - chaos! A crazy, hectic, frustrating chaos. But it's also exciting and fun and you never know just what you might see next.
Public urinatiom is acceptable here, unless there is a sign directly in front of you that says "Do not urinate here"!! and I mean directly, 50cm to the left or right is ok. It really is disgusting, especially when a lot of people don't have shoes on. It's only men- not sure what the women are doing?
I can happily say that we are just 'visiting' this crazy hectic life, but for Indians they just smile and beep their horn some more :)
Just a few of my pictures (sorry they're from my phone, not my camera) thatI've taken from the car window just in the last couple of days.
Corn anyone??
